About Me
My name is Jason Newman and I am a therapist that loves DBT skills. In my therapy practice I use a lot of these skills alongside narrative techniques to help clients find new ways of being in the world. I enjoy being able to help my clients grow and figure out what they want to do to feel more successful. I always believe everyone is doing the best they can with the skills they have, and we will learn new ones!
My primary population has been adolescents to middle age adults. I specialize in queer clients and teens who are struggling. I also love working with young adults and helping them find their way in this world. I love working with anyone who has a desire to learn and become their best self. I will be asking assessment questions and trying to see what has worked and what has not worked in the past. I am trying to make sure you feel just as comfortable with me so that this can be the best matching possible. I am very personable. My clients tend to really like me and find me to be someone they can feel comfortable with rather quickly. I have a way of relating to people where it is very rare that I cannot build a strong rapport with someone. I am also lighthearted, friendly, and yet also challenging at times when we need to go there.
